留学生の増加や国際化対応のため英語で行われる授業が増えており、大学教員の公募条件で英語での授業能力を求められることもあります。
多様な受講生が混在するクラスにおいては，日本語で行っていた授業をそのまま英語にするだけでは，上手くいかないことも多いでしょう。また、英語による授業というだけで学習意欲が低下してしまう受講生もいるかもしれません。
英語で授業を行う可能性がある方や、英語での授業を始めたばかりの大学教員・大学院生はどのような点に気をつけ，どのように授業を行っていけば良いのでしょうか。このワークショップでは、英語での授業を始めたばかりの方や、これから英語で授業を行う予定のある方々を対象に入門的な内容を扱い、英語での授業のやり方などについて説明・議論します。
既に英語で授業を実施している方は，同日17時より開催される発展編のワークショップにもご参加ください。
We are happy to announce that our latest workshop on teaching in English is now ready for your application!
In response to the increasing number of overseas students and the globalization of higher education, a considerable number of tertiary classes have been delivered in English. Nowadays, skills at teaching in English are requirements for many academic jobs.
In a classroom with students of diverse backgrounds, only switching the language from Japanese to English may not lead to a successful delivery. Some students may even feel less motivated to learn just because the class is delivered in English. What are the points to take care of for inexperienced faculty members and graduate students to teach in English? This workshop is intended for those who are likely to or have just begun to teach in English. We will focus on the basics of how to teach in English through lecture and discussion.
If you already have experience of teaching in English, we recommend that you also join our advanced workshop held on the same day after this workshop starting at 17:00.
